OK. I have been sending e-mails to people and they don't understand me. I wonder if it is the age difference or what. I tend to write and hope people understand the big picture. I hate to spell everything out. For example I had a friend of mine tell me that I go from A to J without going ABCDEFGHIJ. I assume that people know that A is followed by the other letters to get to J.
Do you understand this? Am I going to have to spell everything out? To me this is boring.
I guess I will just have to write and let my personal editors look at it and ask me the questions about the stuff they perceive, I have left out.
Wow writing is hard! But I guess I will get used to it.
I am going to a symposium run by the National Science Foundation (NSF to me) about "Women fo Color". It should be interesting and help me with my book.
I had a phone conversation with a chemistry librarian at a major Research I university. I told her that I was writing a book about African American women chemists. She said: "We had an African American woman chemist" (on the faculty). How sad in the 21st Century for them to say the had one African American woman chemist on the faculty. Unfortunately I happened to know the name of the person she was speaking about and that is sad as well. This is the reason for my book!
